30 Great Ways to Relax and Unwind
S-T-R-E-S-S. It's one of those words that probably makes you feel stressed just hearing it. It's not something to take lightly, as stress contributes to a majority all health and mental issues. I won't get into all of the problems that occur because of stress, but please note that it is serious and learning how to control stress is essential to your physical and mental well-being. Not only does stress affect adults, but it affects children and teenagers as well.
Finding simple ways to relax and unwind can make all the difference in the world to your health. I've listed below some of my favorite ways to control stress that can be done by both adults and children.

Exercise. It releases neurotransmitters—the “feel-good “chemicals in the brain.
Eat a balanced and healthy diet. What you eat affects how you feel.
De-clutter and simplify. Have a garage sale or donate things you don’t need.
Sleep. The average adult needs 7-9 hours. Prioritize sleeping.
Live in the moment. Stress is often caused by negative fears and worries about the future.
Flowers. Buy yourself some beautiful flowers and admire them throughout the day.
Deep breathing. Breathe from the abdomen, and focus on long, full breaths.
Stay hydrated. Drinking 8+ glasses of water a day has been shown to reduce stress.
Dance to your favorite music, even if you look crazy doing it.
Cuddle with your significant other, your children, or with your pet.
Vent. But only for 5 minutes. And then clear it from your mind and move on.
Laugh. Watch a funny movie or video clip or play a fun game with friends/family.
Cry. Letting out all those stored up emotions with a short healthy cry can make you feel better afterwards.
Massage. Get a massage. If you can’t afford to pay someone, exchange massages regularly with your significant other or a good friend.
Play with your kids or your pet. Being silly, laughing, and "letting go" is great for the body and mind.
Meditate or go to church as it can greatly reduce stress and lift your spirits.
Walk. Take a quiet walk around your neighborhood or park.

Day off. Take an entire day off from work and stressors and only do fun, enjoyable things.
